Saint Petersburg, July 1 /Xinhua/ — 500 kg of cocaine, hidden in frozen tuna carcasses, were found during the inspection of a container at the sea port “Big Port of Saint Petersburg.” This was reported on Wednesday by the press service of the Federal Security Service /FSB/ of Russia.
In the drug smuggling case, a Russian citizen was detained. At his residence, digital media containing cryptocurrency worth the equivalent of 613 thousand US dollars, 13 premium wristwatches with a total value of more than 1.3 million dollars, and five luxury cars with an estimated value of no less than 130 million rubles /approximately 1.66 million dollars/ were found and seized.
A criminal case has been opened for an attempted sale of narcotic drugs on an especially large scale.
