Kyiv, June 30 /Xinhua/ — Ukraine received 3.9 billion euros from the European Union. This is the first payment under the initial defense tranche totaling 5.01 billion euros under the Ukraine Support Loan program. The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine reported this on its official website on Tuesday.

The specified funds will be directed towards strengthening Ukraine’s defense-industrial complex and ensuring urgent deliveries for the needs of the front.

The Ukraine Support Loan program provides for allocating up to 90 billion euros to Ukraine in 2026-2027. 30 billion euros of these funds are intended for economic and budgetary support, and 60 billion euros for the defense sector.

It is expected that up to 45 billion euros will be provided to the official Kyiv under the program this year, including 28.3 billion euros for military needs. –0–
