Beijing, June 30 /Xinhua/ — Purchasing Managers’ Indexes (PMIs) in China improved in June amid the ongoing acceleration of the country’s economic growth, according to official data released on Tuesday by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) of China.

According to the data, the Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) in China’s manufacturing sector rose from 50 in the previous month to 50.3 in June, returning to growth territory and becoming the second highest reading since the beginning of this year. Meanwhile, the PMI in China’s non-manufacturing sector, covering construction and the service sectors, was 50.2 in June, 0.1 percentage points higher than in May.

Data indicate an increase in the overall level of economic activity this month, said GSU lead statistician Ho Lihui.

Recall that a PMI above 50 indicates sector expansion, below 50 indicates contraction. -0-
