Tashkent, June 29 /Xinhua/ — The closing ceremony of the Innovation and Startup Competition among students from China and Central Asian countries 2026 was held on Monday at the Tashkent State Agrarian University /TSAU/.
The rector of TGAU, Narzullo Oblomuradov, emphasized in his speech that the competition not only demonstrated a spirit of rivalry but, more importantly, strengthened friendship among the youth of the countries in the region. According to him, the event provided young talents with an excellent opportunity for joint creativity and work for the benefit of the development of all Central Asia. The rector expressed hope that holding the competition would become a good tradition.
“This competition serves as an important platform for exchanging experience in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship between Chinese and Central Asian youth,” said Sun Chandun, advisor to the Embassy of the PRC in Uzbekistan. He noted that the friendly relations between the countries in the region are based on deep mutual understanding among their peoples, primarily among the representatives of the younger generation. The diplomat expressed confidence that through competitions and cooperation, young people will strengthen these ties, becoming worthy successors of the traditions of centuries-old friendship between China and the Central Asian countries.
The event also featured a presentation of the best startup projects and a solemn awards ceremony for the competition winners.
The first such contest took place in 2025 in Kazakhstan. This year, more than 700 teams from universities across five Central Asian countries applied to participate. After several selection stages, the 35 best projects had the opportunity to present their developments at the final stage in Tashkent. –0–
