In the coastal wetlands of the Fennann area of Tanshan city, Hebei province, the peak season for hatching and feeding of chicks of the Chinese crested tern has arrived, a bird known as the “architect among birds.” Adult birds are constantly busy: they flit among willow thickets, build nests, and catch insects for the chicks — a beautiful scenic picture of wild nature’s life.
