Dear students and graduate students, young scientists and teachers, graduates and those who are just choosing their path, congratulations on your day – Youth Day!

Today, across the country, dozens of events are being held for you, including concerts and screenings, and they are expecting you at quizzes and contests.

A little history

Let’s not kill the vibe, but let’s still remind that the history of the holiday goes back to the Soviet era – already in 1958 the “Day of Soviet Youth” was established, which was celebrated on the last Sunday of June. After the collapse of the USSR, the holiday received the modern name “Youth Day of Russia” and a specific date – June 27, which was not very convenient, as this day could be a working day and, moreover, fall on exam day.

In 2023, young people appealed to Vladimir Putin with a request to move the holiday to the weekend, and the President of Russia agreed to meet with the youth. So now nothing can overshadow this holiday.

The road is for the young

For many decades, the HSE has become a second home for tens of thousands of young people. We are proud that it is within the walls of our university that you acquire not only knowledge and like-minded people, but also take your first steps in your career, engage in volunteer work, create your own projects, and build strong families.

The world is built on you – those who are not afraid to make mistakes, try new things, and move forward, even if the route is not yet drawn on the map.

Remember: the best time is today. Don’t wait for the perfect moment, start acting, embody your dreams, test hypotheses, and discover new things. And we will always support you and help on this journey.

Happy holiday, youth!
