Minsk, June 26 /Xin Hua/ — The 4th International Anti-Fascist Congress “In One Ranks Against Fascism: Remembering the Past, In the Name of the Future!” is being held in Minsk. On Friday, the congress held a plenary session.

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko sent his message to the participants of the event. He noted that today the heirs of the victors in the Great Patriotic War are fighting for the memory of the heroes and millions of innocent victims. “Our cause is just, and the truthful history of the Great Victory is the most important counterargument against the politics of Western European revanchism, blatant propaganda of the ideologies of fascism, Nazism, and xenophobia,” Lukashenko’s press service quotes his words.

The Minister of Defense of Belarus, Viktor Khrenin, drew attention at the forum hall to the fact that in the neighboring country with Belarus, a state-level decision has been made to destroy monuments to the feat of the Soviet people, marches of Nazis and collaborators are held, there is Russophobia, rewriting of history is taking place, and the ideology of fascism is beginning to raise its head.

“Here lies the importance and relevance of the antifascist congress. It is vitally necessary for us today. Here our voice of truth must be heard. There should be no half-tones or shades. And we see that our fourth antifascist congress evokes genuine interest among many peoples, countries – about 40 states participate in it today,” reported BelTA the Minister of Defense of Belarus.

In turn, the Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus, Alexander Volfovich, noted that the current international situation has discouraging tendencies that increase tension in the world. “And one of the challenges, the threat, is the manifestation of fascism and neo-Nazism in all their forms,” he said, adding that many European leaders have forgotten the tragic consequences fascism led to 85 years ago.
