Beijing, June 26 /Xin Hua/ — China congratulates Nabil Fahmi on his appointment as Secretary-General of the League of Arab States /LAS/ and hopes that during his term of office he will contribute to the further development of China-Arab relations. This was stated on Friday at a regular press briefing by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC, Geng Shuang.
As the Chinese diplomat indicated, the LAG is a symbol of the self-strengthening of Arab states through unity. “Being a good friend and partner of Arab countries, China is committed to strengthening cohesion and cooperation, jointly overcoming challenges together with the Arab side, and filling the China-Arab strategic partnership with new content to build a China-Arab community of shared destiny at a higher level,” noted Go Ziyakun.
