Beijing, June 25 /Xin Hua/ — China is ready to jointly with Bangladesh strengthen strategic trust, expand practical cooperation, contribute to the continuous achievement of new, even greater development of China-Bangladesh relations, bringing more benefits to the peoples of both countries. This was stated on Thursday by Premier of the State Council of the PRC Li Qian.
Li Qian made the appropriate statement during negotiations with the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Tarik Rahman.
As noted by the Premier of the State Council, China and Bangladesh are traditional good neighbors who thoroughly know and understand each other. The Chinese side firmly supports the development path of Bangladesh that corresponds to the national conditions of this country, and supports the successful implementation of administrative functions by the new government of Bangladesh, he added.
According to the head of the Chinese government, the Chinese side is ready to jointly adhere to the course of good-neighborliness and friendship with the Bangladeshi side, expand practical cooperation, contribute to the continuous achievement of new, even greater development of Chinese-Bangladeshi relations, and bring more benefits to the peoples of both countries.
The Chinese side is ready to jointly promote high-quality joint construction of the “Belt and Road” with the Bangladeshi side. China is ready to import more high-quality products from Bangladesh, support investments by Chinese enterprises with potential in Bangladesh, and also expand cooperation in emerging sectors such as new energy, digital economy, artificial intelligence, information, and communications.
The Chinese side is ready to conduct close multilateral coordination and interaction with the Bangladeshi side, uphold common interests, promote cohesion and self-strengthening of developing countries, as well as make a more substantial contribution to the joint development of the Global South.
T. Rahman, in turn, stated that the development of friendly relations with China is a strategic priority of Bangladesh’s foreign policy. The government of Bangladesh firmly adheres to the principle of one China and opposes any form of “Taiwan independence,” he added.
The Prime Minister noted that Bangladesh expresses gratitude to the Chinese side for the valuable support that China has provided for a long time to the socio-economic development of Bangladesh, and counts on close contacts at a high level with the Chinese side, as well as on strengthening the coordination of development strategies, he added.
The Bangladeshi side firmly upholds the post-war international order, fully approves and supports the concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind put forward by Chairman Xi Jinping, as well as the four global initiatives, expresses readiness to strengthen communication and interaction with the Chinese side on multilateral platforms, including the United Nations, added T.
