Moscow, June 25 /Xin Hua/ — Russia supports holding events in China aimed at developing and strengthening bilateral business ties. This was stated on Thursday at a briefing by Maria Zaharova, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, in response to a question from correspondent Xin Hua about the significance of the 9th EXPO “China-Eurasia,” which will take place from June 25 to 29 in the city of Urumqi, the administrative center of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (Northwest China), for deepening Russian-Chinese cooperation.

“We support holding an event aimed at developing comprehensive economic cooperation and strengthening Russian-Chinese business ties. We welcome the participation of Russian business circles in it,” the diplomat noted.

An official representative of the Russian foreign affairs department also invited Chinese partners to participate in major exhibitions to be held on the territory of Russia: the Eastern Economic Forum, the Russian Energy Week, the international industrial exhibition “Innoprom” and the business forum “Rostki.”

“We believe that intensive exchanges, including along the business line, play a very important role in the successful advancement of the entire complex of Russian-Chinese practical cooperation, which, despite external challenges and pressure, demonstrates high adaptability and resilience,” the diplomat emphasized.

Regarding Russian-Chinese trade-economic and humanitarian relations, as M. Zaharova stated, they are on the rise. “For several years in a row, turnover confidently exceeds the mark of 200 billion dollars,” she indicated.

An official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation also noted that, by the decision of the leaders of the two countries, the years 2026-2027 have been declared the Years of Cooperation in the Field of Education. According to her assessment, bilateral relations in this area are developing very actively. “One of the main tasks at the current stage, we see as creating necessary conditions so that young citizens of our countries can find their path to self-realization, subsequently become professionals in their field, specialists in various areas, and be able to use their knowledge and skills for the benefit of our states,” concluded M. Zagarova.
