Today we celebrate the Day of the Statistician of Russia for the twelfth time.
This is a professional celebration of people who assemble a unified picture from a multitude of data, turning raw information into strict reports, and a multitude of numbers into understandable words.
The holiday was officially established in 2014 by order of the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat), and it was first celebrated in 2015.
The date was chosen not by accident: exactly 215 years ago, on June 25, 1811, Emperor Alexander I signed a manifesto on the establishment of the Ministry of Police, which included a Statistical Department. From that moment, statistics gained state status.
Statistics service specialists carefully collect and systematize the history of our country in numbers and facts, thanks to which leaders at various levels can make important management decisions aimed at improving the lives of citizens
On this day, we send separate congratulations to the Department of Statistics of GUU, which since 1943 has been training young professionals and forming new generations of analysts capable of working with data in changing conditions. Over these years, our university has developed close and trusting cooperation with federal and regional statistical bodies, and its own Alley of Statisticians has appeared, to be planted jointly with the representatives of Mosstat starting in 2024.
We wish all specialists accurate calculations, representative samples, and new scientific discoveries.
