Doha, June 21 /Xin Hua/ — Participants in the negotiations from the United States and Iran in Switzerland have formed technical groups to discuss the terms of the final version of a peace agreement between Tehran and Washington, which is to be concluded within 60 days from the start of the current phase of the negotiation process. This was stated on Sunday by the official representative of Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Majid bin Mohammed al-Ansari.
As reported to the Qatari news agency, special technical groups were formed to “discuss the terms of the final agreement that will cover all aspects of the memorandum of understanding.”
An official representative noted that monitoring groups were also created, tasked with controlling the implementation of the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the USA and “tracking progress in reaching a final agreement.”
On Sunday, Qatar announced the start of negotiations in the Swiss town of Bürgenstock near Lake Lucerne and the holding of the first high-level committee meeting with the participation of representatives from the USA, Iran, Qatar, and Pakistan to advance negotiations on the development of a comprehensive and long-term agreement.
Majid bin Muhammad al-Ansari added that Qatar, acting as an intermediary, will continue to work with Pakistan and all interested parties to create a favorable atmosphere conducive to a successful outcome of the negotiations.
After several months of intense conflict last week, Iran and the USA announced the agreement of a memorandum of understanding to cease hostilities in the region on all fronts, including Lebanon. –0–
