Zhengzhou, June 20 /Xinhua/ — On Friday evening, a fire broke out in a wholesale and retail center selling auto parts and auto accessories in the city of Zhengzhou (administrative center of Henan Province, Central China), resulting in the death of two people and light injuries to two others, local authorities reported.
According to the authorities, the incident occurred around 9:00 PM in a shopping complex in the suburban area of Czinshui. As of 1:00 AM on Saturday, 30 people were evacuated, the open fire was extinguished, and the rescue operations were completed.
The vital signs of the two injured are returning to normal, and their injuries do not pose a threat to life.
The fire started in a store on the third floor of the complex. Among the materials that caught fire were rubber products, automotive decorative goods, and accessories.
Public security authorities have taken coercive measures against the de facto owner of the market. Efforts are currently underway to eliminate the consequences of the incident. The causes of the incident are being investigated.
