The Yanshipin railway station, located at an altitude of 4721 meters above sea level in the village of Yanshipin, Amdo County, Nagqu City, Tibet Autonomous Region, is the highest passenger railway stop in the world.
The construction of the station was completed on July 1, 2006. Initially, it was a temporary point without permanent staff, intended for technical stops and passing of trains. Later, as local infrastructure improved and tourism developed, the demand for passenger transportation grew. In December 2025, Yanshipin station officially began serving passengers, which made trips for local residents to medical treatment, education, and work safer and more convenient.
