Dushanbe, June 19 /Sina News/ — Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon and Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, on an official visit to the country, held talks in Dushanbe on Friday, following which a package of bilateral documents was signed.
The signed documents provide for cooperation in the fields of air communication, agriculture, tourism, science, education, culture, sports, and climate change. An agreement was also signed on the creation of a Joint Intergovernmental Commission on economic cooperation.
According to the joint statement adopted following the negotiations, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of Tajik-Georgian relations, as well as exchanged views on pressing issues of the international and regional agenda. The parties agreed to activate political dialogue, inter-parliamentary contacts, and cultural and humanitarian exchanges. The Tajik side also expressed interest in expanding cooperation in the fields of the “green” economy, industry, and technological innovation, including artificial intelligence.
Leaders of two countries expressed confidence that the results of the negotiations held will give a new impetus to the development of interstate relations in all areas.
