Kinshasa, June 16 /Xin Hua/ — The number of confirmed cases of Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has risen to 808, 192 patients have died, the country’s Ministry of Health reported on Monday.

On Sunday, 26 new confirmed cases of the disease and 11 fatal deaths were registered, resulting in a mortality rate of 23.8%, according to the operational report on the disease outbreak. As of Sunday, a total of 363 patients were in isolation, while 48 patients have recovered since the beginning of the outbreak.

In the three affected provinces — Ituri, North Kivu, and South Kivu — countermeasures continue. On May 15, an outbreak of a disease caused by the Ebola-Bundibugyo virus was officially declared. –0–
