In 2026–2027, the Government will additionally allocate to the regions almost 5 billion rubles to provide children, adolescents, and pregnant women with type 1 diabetes with portable continuous glucose monitoring systems. The orders about this were signed by the Chairman of the Government Mikhail Mishustin.
Thanks to federal funding, in the second half of 2026 and in the first half of 2027, glucose level monitoring devices will be provided free of charge to all pregnant women and children with type I diabetes who need them. Prescriptions for obtaining such systems are issued by attending endocrinologists.
Commenting on the decision made onmeeting with the vice-premiers on June 8, Mikhail Mishustin noted that it will allow systems to monitor over 50 thousand children and tens of thousands of future mothers. According to the Prime Minister, about 270 thousand such systems are planned to be purchased in total.
“We believe that the adopted orders will improve the quality of life for children, adolescents, and pregnant women with diabetes,” emphasized Mikhail Mishustin.
The work is carried out within the framework of the federal project “Fight against diabetes”, which is part of the national project “Long and active life”.
