Beijing, June 15 /Xin Hua/ — China is ready to jointly promote with Vietnam the continuous expansion of the scale and improvement of the quality of bilateral trade. This was stated on Monday by Premier of the State Council of the PRC Li Qian.
The head of the Chinese government made an appropriate statement during a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Vietnam, Le Minh Hung, which took place at the initiative of the Vietnamese side.
As Li Qian reminded, during the visit of the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the president of that country, To Lam, to China in April of this year, he was met by the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the CPC, Chairman Xi Jinping, and the parties reached important agreements on building a China-Vietnam community of shared destiny, strategically significant, at a higher level. Li Qian noted that recently governmental departments and local authorities in both countries have activated efforts to implement the results of this visit, achieving positive progress.
Emphasizing that China and Vietnam share a deep traditional friendship, Li Qian stated that China consistently regards Vietnam as a priority direction of its diplomacy with neighboring countries and intends, together with the Vietnamese side, to follow the strategic guidance of the top leaders of the two parties and two countries, strengthen cohesion and mutual trust, expand mutually beneficial cooperation, and more effectively promote the common development and prosperity of the two countries.
The Premier of the State Council of the PRC stated that China intends to jointly deepen the alignment of development strategies with Vietnam, facilitate the continuous expansion of the scale and improvement of the quality of bilateral trade, promote infrastructural interconnection, accelerate the construction of zones for cross-border economic cooperation, expand cooperation in areas such as energy carriers and mineral resources, digital economy, artificial intelligence, and finance, in order to achieve mutual benefit and a jointly higher level of gains.
The head of the Chinese government also indicated that both sides necessarily need to make joint efforts for the successful implementation of events such as the Year of China-Vietnam Cooperation in the field of tourism, to carry out “small but wonderful” projects aimed at improving the welfare of the population, to properly exercise control and management over maritime disputes, and to strengthen the foundation of public support for interstate friendship.
Having noted the rise of unilateralism and protectionism worldwide, Li Qian stated that China is ready to strengthen coordination and cooperation with Vietnam within the framework of multilateral mechanisms such as the UN and the World Trade Organization, to provide mutual support in holding informal meetings of the leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) economies this year and next year, to promote the construction of an open-type Asia-Pacific economy, and to protect free trade and economic globalization.
Le Minh Hung, for his part, noted that currently Vietnam-China relations demonstrate strong development dynamics, adding that the Party and the Government of Vietnam highly value Vietnam-China friendship and consistently consider the development of ties with China as a strategic choice and the main priority of Vietnam’s foreign policy.
The Prime Minister of Vietnam announced the readiness of the Vietnamese side, together with China, to implement important agreements of the top leaders of the two parties and the two countries, to maintain close contacts at a high level, strengthen strategic mutual trust, enhance the coordination of development strategies, deepen cooperation in such spheres as trade and transport infrastructure, promote tourism, educational, medical, and interregional exchanges, manage disagreements and resolve them, and facilitate the achievement of new practical results in Vietnam-China relations.comprehensive strategic cooperation and partnership and in building the Vietnam-China community of shared destiny, which has strategic significance.
Le Minh Hang also invited a greater number of Chinese enterprises to invest in Vietnam and establish business there, noting that the Vietnamese side is ready to provide them with favorable conditions.
The head of the Vietnamese government added that Vietnam supports China in holding an informal meeting of APEC economic leaders this year, and also expects to strengthen multilateral communication and cooperation with the SCO to protect common interests. –0–
