Tashkent, June 14 /Sina/ — The second forum on sinology of Central Asia, dedicated to the topic “Central Asia and China: at the crossroads of heritage and future,” took place on Saturday in the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent.
The event was aimed at strengthening cooperation between specialists on China from Central Asian countries, developing academic and expert ties. During the forum, experts discussed issues of political interaction, transport and economic interconnectivity, as well as matters of regional cooperation and ways to develop Chinese studies.
The chairman of the Central Asian Association of Artificial Intelligence, Vladimir Norov, in his speech noted that China is currently the main trading partner of more than 150 countries and regions of the world, one of the leading investors in infrastructure development, the leader in the field of digital technologies, artificial intelligence, green energy, and high-tech production. According to him, many international experts consider China not only as a major economic power but also as one of the main driving forces in establishing a new international order.This is exactly why modern Sinology acquires special significance and relevance.
China’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan Yu Lizhong, speaking at the forum, stated that China is actively promoting the joint construction of the “Belt and Road” initiative and the community of a shared future, forming a comprehensive, multi-level, and broad cooperation model. He expressed hope that the current forum will serve as a stimulus for further strengthening research on contemporary China and exchanges in public administration experience, making a constructive contribution to the development and prosperity of the region, as well as to building a closer community of a shared future between China and Central Asia.
The director of the scientific-educational center “Belt and Road,” Adil Kauknenov, in turn, drew attention to the fact that Sinology represents an interdisciplinary field. According to him, the residents of Central Asia are interested not only in studying culture but also in understanding business processes, understanding scientific achievements, and cutting-edge technologies.
Within the framework of the forum, four panel sessions were organized: “Origins of Sinology in Central Asia,” “Sinology in Cultural and Humanitarian Cooperation,” “Studying China: China’s 15-Year Plan,” and “Practice of Working with the Chinese Language in Central Asia.” –0–
