Ulaanbaatar, June 14 /Xinhua/ — On Sunday, following negotiations between the Mongolian Foreign Minister Batmunkh Batzorig and the visiting foreign minister of the PRC, Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, a joint press communiqué was published, in which both sides emphasized their intention to promote the alignment of development strategies and to expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
During the negotiations within the framework of the three-day visit of the head of the Chinese MFA, which began on Saturday, both sides once again stated mutual respect for the independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and chosen development paths of each other, and also confirmed adherence to the principle of mutual non-interference in internal affairs.
The parties again emphasized that they will not enter into any military or political alliances aimed against the other side, will not conclude agreements with any third countries that undermine the sovereignty and security of the other side, and will not allow the use of their territory by third states to cause damage to the sovereignty and security of the other.
Mongolia has once again declared its firm commitment to the One China principle, its rejection of “Taiwan independence,” and its support for the peaceful reunification of China. The Mongolian side also confirmed that issues related to Xizang, Xinjiang, and Tibet are internal affairs of China.
The parties agreed to strengthen the coordination of their development strategies, to promote projects within the framework of the high-quality joint construction initiatives “Belt and Road” and the Mongolian development strategy “Steppe Road,” to expand mutually beneficial cooperation in various spheres, and comprehensively enhance the scale, quality, and level of bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
Both countries agreed to maintain regular communication on international and regional affairs. Mongolia once again expressed its support for the concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind, initiatives on global development, initiatives on global security, initiatives on global civilization, and initiatives on global governance.
The Chinese side highly appreciated the importance of the international conference “Ulan-Bator Dialogue on Security Issues in Northeast Asia” held by Mongolia.
The parties declared their common aspiration to counter and condemn any forms of fascism and militarism, to jointly protect peace and security worldwide, and to uphold international integrity and justice.
Representatives of both sides gave a high assessment of the results of trilateral cooperation between China, Mongolia, and Russia, expressing firm confidence that the implementation of the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor program plays an important role in promoting prosperity and stability in the region.
Both sides also emphasized that the continuously growing political and economic influence of such multilateral mechanisms as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, and BRICS has contributed to the progress of regional cooperation. –0–
