Washington, June 11 /Xinhua/ — US President Donald Trump announced that he canceled the planned air strikes and bombings on Iran scheduled for Thursday evening, citing progress in ongoing negotiations.
“The fact that discussions with the Islamic Republic of Iran were brought to the highest level of Iranian leadership and approved, I, as President of the United States of America, have canceled the planned strikes and bombings on Iran for today,” wrote D. Trump on the social network Truth Social.
“Discussions and final points were approved conceptually, as well as in the smallest detail, by all parties involved, including the United States, Israel, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Turkey, Pakistan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt, and other countries,” noted the American president.
At the same time, he stated that the US naval blockade “will remain in full force and effect” until the deal is completed, adding that the time and place of the signing of the agreement will be announced in the near future. –0–
