Beijing, June 11 /Xin Hua/ — China will continue to promote the comprehensive development of the railway industry and the tourism sector, as well as implement additional measures to expand service consumption. This was reported in a government document published on Wednesday.
In the document, jointly issued by eight structures, including the Ministry of Commerce of the PRC, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the PRC, and the China State Railway Corporation, it is stated that China will increase budgetary and financial support to facilitate the reconstruction of railway stations taking into account the needs of tourists and the construction of tourist service facilities.
It is recommended that the relevant authorities at the local level facilitate the attraction of private investments for the development and operation of tourism products related to railway transport, in accordance with laws and regulatory acts, as noted in the document.
The document contains a call to financial institutions to ensure more effective financing of the technical renewal and modernization of tourist trains.
According to the document, efforts will be made to promote the planning and development of cross-border tourist trains along the routes China-Laos, China-Kazakhstan, China-Vietnam, as well as China-Russia. It also emphasizes the necessity of launching tourist trains adapted for inbound tourists.
Local authorities and railway operators will be supported in integrating tourist resources, including scenic spots, accommodation facilities, public catering, and sports events.
The document also proposes measures for the creation of big data systems in the field of railway tourism with the aim of monitoring, forecasting, and analyzing tourist flows, as well as to facilitate the development, advancement, promotion, and implementation of railway tourism products.
