In the capital, the auditions for the “Moscow Masters” competition have begun in the categories “Teacher in the Field of Arts” and “Concertmaster in the Field of Creative Education.” Participants present open lessons, performances with students, showcase methodological developments and creative projects, and the jury will evaluate their professional skill.
16 teachers from Moscow schools of arts and 12 accompanists will participate in the competition, who will compete in two nominations. The jury includes representatives of various spheres of art, teachers of leading creative universities of the country, such as the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, and the Moscow State Institute of Music (MGIM) named after A.G. Schnittke.
The competition allows teachers to demonstrate professional mastery. The final stage of the profession “concertmaster in the field of creative education” will take place on June 15 at the children’s music school named after Ferenc Liszt; for the profession “teacher in the field of arts” — on June 16 and 17 at the children’s music school named after Yu. Anastasia Belyaeva, creator and conductor of one of the most famous children’s choirs in Moscow “Aurora”, head of the Center for Professional Mastery in the direction of “Choral Art”, organizer of conferences and seminars for choirmasters, and winner of the city competition “Moscow Masters” in the profession “teacher in the field of art” in 2024, shared her opinion about the competition.
“This is, above all, a real challenge for me, as well as for any teacher: the experience of working in difficult conditions when time is limited and you interact with an unfamiliar team, working on compositions that have never been performed before. I had the honor to work with the women’s choir of the Moscow State Institute of Music named after A.G. Schnittke, and it was an interesting experience communicating with singers of a different age group, since I lead a children’s choir. It was exciting to see how well I would be able to establish contact with them. And I am very glad that the singers sang everything flawlessly from the first time I showed them,” Anastasia Belyaeva said.
Saxophone class teacher at the Jazz Academy Vladimir Koznov, the laureate of the “Moscow Masters” competition second degree in 2025, noted that he considers his mission not only to provide all the necessary professional knowledge and skills, but also to teach how to learn, how to present oneself, and not to be afraid of free improvisation.
“Moscow Masters” is an annual citywide competition for those who make the capital better every day. Rescuers, engineers, public transport drivers, medical workers, and representatives of other in-demand professions compete for the title of the best in their field.
The competition has become one of the brightest urban projects, which is dynamically developing alongside Moscow. Specialists of any age and experience can participate in it, but traditionally more than half of the contestants are young people.
The product competition is held for the 29th time within the framework of the social partnership system between the Government of Moscow, the Moscow Federation of Trade Unions, and the Moscow Confederation of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (employers) with the support of the capital’sCommittee on Public Relations and Youth Policy. In almost three decades, the scale of the project has increased sixfold: from seven professions in the first competition to 40 this year. Throughout its history, more than 1.3 million people have participated in it.
