“Moscow Masters”: The Best Tram Driver Works on Route No. 17

The final of the “Moscow Masters” competition among tram drivers was held in the capital. Participants demonstrated their professionalism in theory and in practice. First place was taken by Alexey Pankin, who works on route No. 17 “Severnoe Medvedkovo” — “Ostankino Estate,” reported the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.Maksim Liksutov.

“Today, more than two thousand tram drivers work in the capital. This job requires high responsibility, professionalism, and constant skill development. The “Moscow Masters” competition annually brings together the best in this profession. The competition allows specialists to demonstrate their training and exchange experiences with colleagues. Second place goes to Sergey Miroshnichenko (I.V. Rusakov Tram Depot), and third place to Maksim Slabinsky (Krasnopresnenskoye Tram Depot).

In the theoretical part, the tram drivers demonstrated knowledge of instructions and traffic rules. In practice, the contestants demonstrated skills within the framework of tests “Switch Point”, “Speed Mode”, “Stopping Accuracy”, and “Sense of Clearance”.

“Moscow Masters” is an annual city-wide competition for those who make the capital better every day. Rescuers, engineers, public transport drivers, medical workers, and representatives of other in-demand professions compete for the title of the best in their field.

The competition has become one of the brightest urban projects, dynamically developing together with the capital. Specialists of any age and with any level of experience can participate in it, but traditionally more than half of the contestants are young people.

The competition is being held for the 29th time within the framework of the social partnership system between the Government of Moscow, the Moscow Federation of Trade Unions, and the Moscow Confederation of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (Employers) with the support of the capital’sCommittee on Public Relations and Youth Policy. In almost three decades, the project’s scale has increased nearly sixfold: from seven professions in the first competition to 40 in 2026. Over the entire history, more than 1.3 million people have participated in it.
