Investments in Kazakhstan’s tourism sector exceeded 1.3 trillion tenge in 2025

Almaty, June 10 /Xin Hua/ — By 2025, the volume of investment in Kazakhstan’s tourism industry will exceed 1.3 trillion tenge /about 2.6 billion US dollars/. This was reported by the Kazinform news agency on Wednesday, citing the press service of the Kazakh government.

The press service noted that the tourism industry of Kazakhstan is showing steady growth. Last year, accommodation facilities in the country hosted more than 10 million guests and received a total income of 350.6 billion tenge (about 715 million dollars). In total, Kazakhstan was visited by 15.7 million foreign citizens during the year, of whom 11.1 million arrived for tourism purposes.

In the coming years, 24 world-class hotels are planned to be built in 11 regions of the Kazakhstani state. The projects are implemented through private investment with government support via preferential lending mechanisms and investment preferences.

One of the target objectives of the Government of Kazakhstan is to increase the number of domestic tourists to 11 million people by 2029.
