“According to meteorologists, in the coming days in the territory of the capital region, hot weather will be established, with air temperatures during the daytime hours possibly reaching plus 30–32 degrees. Due to the difficult weather conditions, city services have been put on high alert, emergency teams from engineering companies and prefectures of administrative districts are put on round-the-clock duty,” noted Petr Biryukov.
Special attention is paid to ensuring the uninterrupted operation of life support systems: power grid organizations have been instructed to bring emergency power sources to readiness.
Under the round-the-clock control of the capital’s fire-rescue garrison, green areas are guarded. Enhanced patrolling is being conducted to prevent possible fires. In the Troitsky and Novomoskovsky administrative districts, irrigation equipment crews are additionally on duty to promptly assist firefighters if necessary.
In hot weather, utility services cyclically water the roadway to timely restore the surface of the pavement and reduce the possibility of its plastic deformation.
Special care is required in the heat for the city flowerbeds. They water them early in the morning or in the evening hours in such a way that the soil is moistened to the depth of the root system — approximately 30 centimeters.
