The company “Bashneft” (part of the structure of “Rosneft”) invested 6.9 billion rubles in environmental projects in 2025. The funds were directed towards financing targeted environmental programs and preserving biodiversity.
The implementation of Bashneft’s gas program allowed the level of useful utilization of associated petroleum gas to be brought to 96.1% by 2025, while the legislative standard is at least 95%.
Another important direction of Bashneft’s early environmental activities is the program to increase pipeline reliability. Along with the preventive replacement of pipes, in 2025, for the first time in the territory of Bashkortostan, pipelines made of composite materials were put into operation. The use of plastic pipes instead of traditional steel ones allows for a significant increase in the ecological and industrial safety of pipelines, as well as the efficiency of oil transportation.
The ecological services of “Bashneft” carry out continuous monitoring of the environmental condition. In 2025, more than 168 thousand air, water, and soil samples were taken and analyzed. The company also operates two automated stations for monitoring the atmospheric air condition in the residential area of the northern part of Ufa, which ensures control over the ecological situation in the city.
“Bashneft” continued the implementation of activities to restore biodiversity in the region of its operation. More than 323 thousand salmon and sturgeon fish fry were released into water bodies in the territories of Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug–Yugra, and the Nenets Autonomous Okrug. In the Republic of Bashkortostan and Tyumen Oblast, 255 thousand pine and spruce seedlings were planted over an area of more than 73 hectares.
Biological treatment facilities of the Ufa group of oil refining plants are one of the largest environmental projects of Rosneft. They provide complete purification of industrial, stormwater, and domestic wastewater. The membrane bioreactor technology removes all impurities and microorganisms from the wastewater. As a result, the water quality meets the standards required for fishery water bodies. In 2025, the treatment facilities processed over 23 million cubic meters of wastewater, which allowed increasing the volume of water reused in the technological process by 2.5 times.
Environmental protection for future generations is an integral part of the corporate culture of NK Rosneft. The activities of the Company’s enterprises are aimed at improving the environmental performance of production and reducing the impact on the environment.
