Beijing, June 9 /Xinhua/ — The chairman of the Chinese side of the China-Russia Committee of Friendship, Peace, and Development, Li Hunchun, participated on Tuesday in the opening ceremony of the China-Russia Forum of Languages of Friendship at the People’s University of China and met with the chairman of the Russian side of the committee, Boris Titov.
Li Xunchun, who is also a member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee and Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress / CPC NPC, emphasized that the prospects for China-Russia cooperation in the field of education are broad and very promising.
As Li Hunchun noted, being an important channel for bilateral non-governmental exchanges, the China-Russia Committee of Friendship, Peace, and Development should implement the important consensus reached by the heads of the two states. Taking advantage of the overlapping Years of China and Russia’s establishment as a favorable opportunity and using language and culture as a connecting link, exchanges and mutual education should be expanded, practical cooperation should be increased, China-Russia friendship should be deepened, and the content of bilateral relations should be enriched, Li Hunchun indicated.
