Beijing, June 9 /Xinhua/ — The total volume of China’s goods imports and exports expressed in yuan rose by 16.9 percent year-on-year in May, according to data from the General Administration of Customs (GAC) of the PRC, published on Tuesday.

According to data, last month the total value volume of imports and exports of goods reached 4.45 trillion yuan / about 653 billion USD, remaining above 4 trillion yuan for three consecutive months.

In particular, exports increased by 13.8 percent on an annual basis, while imports grew by 21.5 percent year-on-year.

In the first five months of the current year, the total volume of China’s foreign trade in goods reached 20.68 trillion yuan, increasing by 15.3 percent year-on-year. -0-
