Beijing, June 8 /Xinhua/ — China is deeply concerned about the situation that has developed in the Middle East and believes that the resumption of military actions does not correspond to any interests, said the official representative of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lin Xian, on Monday, responding to the relevant question at the regular press briefing.

“China hopes that the parties to the conflict will be able to fulfill their obligations to cease fire, preserve the negotiation process, adhere to the settlement of the conflict by political and diplomatic means, and as soon as possible achieve a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire, thereby creating indispensable conditions for the restoration of peace and tranquility in the Middle East and in the Persian Gulf region,” said the diplomat. -0-
