Yerevan, June 7 /Siny Uá/ — In Armenia, parliamentary elections were held on Sunday, in which, according to the Central Election Commission (CEC) of the country, 1,476,597 people participated, or 58.97 percent of those eligible to vote.
2,503,976 citizens were included in the voter list. As clarified by the chairman of the CEC, Vaagn Ovakimyan, turnout in Yerevan was 58.46 percent.
The Central Election Commission reported that a total of 2005 polling stations were established for the elections in Armenia. For electronic voter registration, 4000 technical devices were used. Cameras providing live broadcasting were installed at 1758 polling stations with 300 or more voters. 612 polling stations were made accessible to voters with limited mobility.
