Saint Petersburg, June 6 /Xin Hua/ — Vice Chairman of the NPC Standing Committee Zhang Che on Friday met here with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Han Zheng conveyed to V. Putin heartfelt greetings and best wishes from the Chairman of the NPC Xi Jinping. He noted that thanks to the strategic leadership of the leaders of the two countries, China-Russia relations remain stable and sustainable against the backdrop of intertwined changes and shocks in the international situation.
The Deputy Chairman of the CNS reminded that recently the heads of two states held successful negotiations in Beijing and reached a new important consensus on the development of bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields.
He noted that China is ready to cooperate with Russia in order to successfully implement important agreements, to continuously strengthen political mutual trust, to expand practical cooperation, to enhance international coordination, and to continuously enrich the content of bilateral relations
Han Zheng stated that both countries are important constructive forces in ensuring global strategic stability and improving global governance. A high level of China-Russia relations is not only an inevitable condition for the development and revival of the two countries, but also a responsibility of the era that both sides bear to promote peace, stability, and development throughout the world.
China is counting on strengthening coordination with Russia in order to create a more just and equitable system of global governance, noted the Vice Chairman of the CPC.
V. Putin welcomed Han Zheng’s visit to Russia to participate in the 29th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum and asked him to convey his sincere greetings to the Chairman of the NPC, Xi Jinping.
The President of Russia noted that Russian-Chinese relations are at an unprecedentedly high level. During his recent successful visit to China, he held with Xi Jinping a deep exchange of views on a wide range of issues and defined the future direction of bilateral cooperation, added the Russian leader.
He recalled that this year marks the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship, and Cooperation between the Russian Federation and China, and also announced the holding of the Cross Years of Education. V. Putin emphasized that Russia intends to steadily deepen political mutual trust and good-neighborly friendship with China and develop exchanges and cooperation in various areas.
