Jerusalem, June 6 /Xin Hua/ — The Israel Defense Forces /IDF/ on Friday evening announced the detection of the launch of “surface-to-air” class rockets by the Lebanese group “Hezbollah” towards Israeli Air Force planes.
The statement also says that the incident ended without any casualties and the aircraft were not damaged.
As a result of the missile launch, air raid sirens were triggered in the city of Kiryat Shmona and eight villages in the northeast of Israel near the Lebanese border, causing thousands of residents to rush to shelters.
According to the Lebanese National News Agency, at least 13 people were killed and another 15 wounded on Friday as a result of a series of Israeli air strikes and drone attacks in southern Lebanon.
Incidents occurred despite the ceasefire agreement reached on Wednesday between Israel and Lebanon following trilateral negotiations in Washington. –0–
