Saint Petersburg, June 4 /Sinha/ — Russia and the USA are conducting an active dialogue, including on economic interaction. This was stated on Thursday at the plenary session of the 29th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum /SPIEF-2026/ in Saint Petersburg by the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund /RDIF/, special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries Kirill Dmitriev, commenting on recent contacts with the US President’s special envoy Steve Whitkoff and then the American leader Jared Kushner.

“There is a very good dialogue going on with Steve and Jared. We were talking just yesterday. And the most important topic is economic interaction, because we see that there are many joint economic initiatives that we can implement, and we are actively preparing,” the head of the RFPIA News is quoted as saying.

As K. Dmitriev noted, Russia and the USA are actively discussing joint projects in the territory of the Russian Arctic, as well as in high technology and infrastructure. “Together we can invest with the USA in various projects that are beneficial both for Russia and for the United States,” he added.

According to him, there is also progress in the Moscow-Washington contact on the Ukrainian crisis. “There is significant progress, and attempts to downplay it are connected with the fact that people who are against the continuation of the war are trying to disrupt the Russian-American dialogue,” the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation indicated.

K. Dmitriev disagreed with the assessments of the RF and US contact stalls. “I do not agree with these assessments, nothing is stalling, an active dialogue is ongoing,” he stated.
