For the Political University PME-2026, it already began on June 2, when it took place“Evening at Peter’s Political”. Today at Expoforum, the XXIX St. Petersburg International Economic Forum officially started. Rector of SPbPU Andrey Rudskoy met with business partners and signed a number of agreements at the forum.
On the first day of the forum, a general agreement was signed with the joint-stock company “AVTOVAZ” for the period from 2026 to 2030. The agreement was signed by the rector of SPbPU Andrey Rudskoy and the president of JSC “AVTOVAZ” Maksim Sokolov in the presence of the vice-governor of Saint Petersburg Kirill Polyakov.
The project of the agreement is aimed at the development of long-term cooperation between JSC “AVTOVAZ” and the Saint Petersburg State Polytechnic University of Peter the Great in the field of education, science, development of human resource potential, and the introduction of modern technologies.
The document provides for the interaction of parties in the preparation of specialists for the automotive industry, the implementation of research and design work, the introduction of innovative scientific and technological achievements into production, as well as the joint development of promising areas of high-tech production.
The agreement will allow strengthening the interaction between industry and higher education, ensuring the training of highly qualified engineering personnel demanded by automotive industry enterprises, as well as creating conditions for the implementation of domestic scientific developments and technologies.
In engineering and production, there are two powerful directions that show the level of development of industry and the country’s industry — this is the production of aviation engines and the production of automobiles. The automotive industry is more “capricious” and faster-changing, so it must always be ahead of time and consumer demands. For us, it is very important to work with “AvtoVAZ.” We plan to develop new products based on the principle: “a car for a person,” so that it is modern, ergonomic, comfortable, and with a logical, intuitive control system,” noted Andrey Rudskoy.
It is a great honor for us to sign this agreement and enter the next stage of relations with the legendary St. Petersburg Polytechnic, because leaders must cooperate with leaders in order to achieve even greater results and open new horizons. Today, AvtoVAZ’s strategy involves large-scale scientific and technical interaction with a whole range of educational institutions. And first and foremost, of course, we focus on the Polytechnic, which already has experience interacting with many automobile companies in the world and Russia,” emphasized Maxim Sokolov.
Also, PolitEz concluded an agreement on cooperation with the Government of the Komi Republic. It is aimed at the development of long-term interaction in the field of personnel support, scientific and technological development, and the implementation of joint educational initiatives.
For SPbPU, the agreement has strategic significance from the point of view of developing the system of additional professional education and expanding interaction with the industrial sector of the Komi Republic, including enterprises of the oil and gas complex, industry, energy, and other branches of the region’s economy.
Saint Petersburg Polytechnic University of Peter the Great is one of the country’s leading scientific and educational centers. For us, it is important that talented young people from Komi, receiving an education here, do not lose connections with their native region. Together with the university, we will conduct systematic work on career guidance for schoolchildren, upgrading specialists’ qualifications, developing scientific research addressing our economy’s tasks, promoting cultural, educational, and ecological initiatives, commented the Head of the Komi Republic, Rostislav Goldshtein.
Furthermore, Andrey Rudskoy signed a cooperation agreement with the General Director of the Directorate of Scientific and Technical Programs, Alexander Dvoynikov.
Cooperation will be carried out in the field of comprehensive informational support, popularization of science, improving the quality and significance of scientific research, expert interaction, and support of youth and scientists within the framework of events representing mutual interest.
On the day of SPIEF-2026, the opening of the mobile exhibition “On the immortalization of the memory of I. V. Gorynin and the celebration of the 100th anniversary of his birth” took place. In the presence of the Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Andrey Fursenko and the Governor of Saint Petersburg Alexander Beglov, the President of the Research Center “Kurchatov Institute” Mikhail Kovalchuk and Andrey Rudskoj signed an agreement on expanding cooperation between the Kurchatov Institute and the Polytechnic Museum across a broad range of directions. It includes scientific and educational programs, a number of joint scientific works, including research of materials for the creation of new radiopharmaceutical drugs and the development of nuclear medicine, tomography, development of new biosustainable materials. Joint work in the field of bioeconomics and the creation of software programs aimed at introducing new digital and information technologies for the development of science and materials science is envisaged.
The agreement will create a basis for participation in the target program of the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Economic Development, the commercialization of science-intensive developments and the strengthening of cooperation with leading scientific centers, ensuring technological sovereignty in strategic sectors.
The document opens new horizons for our interaction within the framework of joint scientific and educational activities on the development and implementation of scientific and technical programs aimed at creating high-tech and competitive products. The strategic partnership between Politech and the Kurchatov Institute is a powerful synergy in the most important area for the science and economy of our country,” said Andrey Rudskoy.
