In six parks under the jurisdiction of the capital cityDepartment of Culture, on June 1, special mailboxes appeared. With their help, anyone can send thematic postcards to their loved ones for free. The boxes were installed as part of the project“Summer in Moscow”jointly with “Russian Post”.
The project will allow park guests to share impressions and warm wishes while relaxing in the fresh air. To send, you need to choose a postcard, sign it, and drop it into a special box. Post offices are located in the forest library of Khodynskoe Pole park, 50 Let Oktyabrya, and Vorontsovo estate, in the Bread House of the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve, in front of the main gate arch of Sokolniki Park, and near the main gate of the Kuskovo Museum-Estate.
“At the start of the ‘Summer in Moscow’ project, guests of the capital’s parks have the opportunity to share their impressions of the walk in an unusual way — through a paper message. Sometimes a few handwritten lines can give much more emotion than dozens of messages on the phone. I am confident that the project will find a response among visitors and become one of the good summer traditions of the capital,” emphasized Ekaterina Gudko, Deputy General Director of ANO ‘Park Development’.
Specially for the project in the capital, a series of postcards with author illustrations was created. On them are depicted the city greenhouse of the “Gardens and vegetable gardens” festival in Tagansky Park, the Bread House of the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve, the forest library in the 50th Anniversary of October Park, the arch of the main entrance to Sokolniki Park, and other sights. There are a total of five design options. Each design reflects the atmosphere of the city’s green spaces. The print run of postcards amounted to 70 thousand copies.
“Summer in Moscow is always a special and unforgettable time. And once you step into a park, you feel like a child on vacation, no matter how old you are. It’s wonderful at this moment to share emotions with your loved ones, and the memories of this day will last a long time both for the sender and the recipient of the postcard,” noted Anton Myagkov, Director of Strategy and Marketing at “Russian Post.”
“Parks of Moscow”A is a large-scale urban initiative aimed at creating comfortable, modern, and multifunctional recreation zones for residents and visitors of the capital. It unites more than 50 park areas that have been transformed into popular places for sports, culture, family leisure, and unity with nature. The project not only preserves unique landscapes and ecosystems but also fills the parks with new infrastructure.
“Summer in Moscow” — the main event of the season, which has already become a good tradition and an integral part of the life of the capital. The key theme of this year is “Time to Be Together.” The project unites people of different generations around common values, allowing them to get closer not only with their relatives but also with the entire city on a walk, cultural and sporting events, charity events, as well as right next to home in all districts of the capital.
The program of events in the city park contributes to the implementation of the goals and objectives of the national project in Moscow“Family”. More about the national project of Russia and the contribution of the capital can be learned atspecial page.
