Road repairs have begun in the Olympic Village in the west of the capital. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow.Petr Biryukov.
“The main task of the street comprehensive repair program is to create comfortable and safe conditions for drivers and pedestrians, organize convenient routes to residential neighborhoods, transport, and socially significant facilities. We have started carrying out comprehensive road repairs in the Olympic Village in the western part of the capital — there we will replace the road surface and apply new markings, install benches for rest and navigation stands in the pedestrian zone. In the final stage, we will carry out landscaping — restore existing and equip new lawns, plant trees and shrubs,” explained Petr Biryukov.
When selecting program objects, the intervals between repairs, the condition of the road surface, traffic intensity, as well as the proximity of important social and other institutions are taken into account.
The Olympic Village area hosts iconic sports, cultural, and social facilities, including the Moscow State Defense Museum, the S.V. Rachmaninov Concert Hall (Philharmonia-2 complex), and others.
