An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

The Bank of Russia extends the currently effective restrictions for the period from June 8 to December 7, 2026, inclusive:

– Individuals – non-residents from unfriendly countries working in Russia, may transfer abroad funds in the amount of their salary;

– A ban on the transfer of funds abroad for individuals not working in Russia – non-residents from unfriendly countries, as well as for legal entities from such states. This restriction does not apply to foreign companies controlled by Russian legal or natural persons.

At the same time, the specified prohibitions do not apply to operations involving the transfer of funds by foreign investors who invest in the Russian financial market, from ‘In’ type accounts to accounts abroad.

Banks from unfriendly states may carry out money transfers in rubles using correspondent accounts opened in Russian credit organizations, if the payer’s and recipient’s accounts are opened in a foreign bank.
