Tehran, May 29 /Xinhua/ — The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, stated on Friday that Iran seeks concessions not through dialogue, but with the help of rockets.

M. B. Ghalibaf, who is also the chief negotiator for Tehran in the peace talks with Washington, outlining Iran’s position on the ongoing negotiations with the USA aimed at ending the war, stated on the social network X: “We achieve concessions not through dialogue, but through rockets; in negotiations, we merely explain our stance.”

He added that Iran does not trust the guarantees or words of the other party, noting that “only actions are the criterion for Iran’s decisions.”

M. B. Ghalibaf emphasized that Iran will not take any action until the other party begins to act. The winner of any agreement is the one who will be better prepared for war on the day after its conclusion, the chairman stated.

It is reported that Iran and the USA are working on completing the signing of a memorandum of understanding to end the military conflict that began on February 28 with joint attacks by the USA and Israel on the capital of Iran, Tehran, and a number of other cities.

After the ceasefire that came into effect between the warring parties on April 8, Iran and the USA began a diplomatic process to resolve the conflict. According to available data, over the past weeks the parties have exchanged several proposed plans through Pakistani mediation, outlining the terms for ending the conflict.
