The volume of paid services to the population of Moscow in the first quarter of 2026 reached 1.2 trillion rubles, increasing by 2.4 percent in comparable prices compared to the same period last year. This was reported byMaria Bagreeva, Deputy Mayor of Moscow, Head of the Moscow Department of Economic Policy and Development.
“The service sector of Moscow is actively developing: the introduction of digital formats contributes to improving the quality of service and makes services more accessible to users. In the first quarter of 2026, the volume of paid services to the capital’s population amounted to 1.2 trillion rubles — 2.4 percent more than in the same period of the previous year. The maximum contribution to growth was made by electronic services, communication services, and education, which account for about a third of the turnover of the entire industry. These areas demonstrate sustainable development thanks to digitalization,” said Maria Bagreeva.
The turnover of electronic services increased by 16 percent, exceeding 123 billion rubles. The growth is due to the active use of digital ecosystems, multimedia, and cloud services.
The volume of communication services increased by seven percent — to 121 billion rubles. This was largely facilitated by steady demand for the internet: smart home, security services, and other solutions for everyday use.
The turnover of educational services increased by five percent — to 111 billion rubles. Interest among consumers in additional training programs, which allow improving qualifications or mastering a new profession, is growing, and the spread of distance learning formats makes additional education more accessible.
Sports organizations showed high dynamics, with turnover increasing by 19 percent and amounting to 19 billion rubles, as well as travel agencies: they increased the indicator by 11 percent — up to 22 billion rubles.
