A large-scale renewal of the rolling stock of the Zamoskvoretskaya line continues in the Moscow Metro. Another 24 cars of the newest “Moscow-2026” series have been delivered to the “Yuzhnoye” depot. In addition, 24 cars are undergoing trial runs before being put into service on the line. They still need to cover 300 kilometers. If there are no complaints from metro specialists, they will begin transporting passengers.
“Today, the capital’s metro is implementing the world’s largest program for train renewal. Since 2010, the share of new rolling stock has increased approximately from 13 to 80 percent, and by 2030 this indicator will exceed 90 percent. At the end of last year, on one of the most in-demand lines — the Zamoskvoretskaya line — cars of the “Moscow-2026″ series appeared for the first time. These are the most modern and technological trains of Russian production,” noted the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.
Today the line’s fleet counts 176 cars of the “Moskva-2026” series — one of the most modern and technological metro trains manufactured in Russia. And the share of modern trains on the Zamoskvoretskaya line has reached 70 percent.
The new models have a higher level of comfort and meet modern urban transport requirements. Among the key advantages of the “Moscow-2026” series trains are:
— through passages between the carriages;
— more than 400 USB ports for charging devices;
— updated seats without metal joints;
— doors, the width of which is 32 percent larger compared to the cars of the previous generation;
— increased train capacity by 10 percent.
Passengers also highly appreciate the new trains. According to the results of a survey conducted in the metro on the eve of its 91st anniversary among several thousand people, it was the trains of the “Moscow” series (“Moscow”, “Moscow-2020”, “Moscow-2024” and “Moscow-2026”) that were recognized as the most popular among the residents of the capital — 64 percent of respondents chose them.
