An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

The number of contracts concluded increased by 13% compared to last year and amounted to 19 million.

At the same time, the number of clients increased by only 3% and reached 2.16 million people by the end of 2025. Most of them are regular clients who use loans for quickly obtaining money for urgent needs. Only 15% of debts are repaid through the sale of non-redeemed property, while 85% of borrowers pay independently.

It is important that loans at pawnshops do not form chains: if a person does not repay the debt, the pledged property will be sold after the grace period expires, and the debt will be considered fully paid off.

Almost 95% of the loan volume was issued against jewelry collateral. The average loan amount for this type of collateral increased over the year from 21 thousand to 27 thousand rubles, which is related to the rise in gold prices – over the year they have increased by a quarter.

Since April 1 of this year, the maximum overpayment amount on consumer loans at pawnshops has been reduced from 130% to 100% of the loan amount, that is, the total amount of payments on the loan cannot exceed double the amount of the funds received.
