Lending by banks to companies (including bonds) increased by 1.9% in April (+0.4% in March). Banks were actively issuing ruble loans to companies from various sectors. In annual terms, the indicator grew by 12.1 trillion rubles, or 12.8% (+11.5 trillion rubles, +12.4% in March).

According to preliminary data, household mortgage debt increased by a moderate 0.4% (+0.3% in March). The share of government-supported mortgages remained at the February–March level: about 60% of the total volume of issuances. The annual growth amounted to 2.3 trillion rubles, or 10.5%, the same as the previous month. The portfolio of consumer loans in April remained practically unchanged (+0.1% after +0.4% in March), and in annual terms decreased by 0.3 trillion rubles, or 2.3% (-0.4 trillion rubles, -3.1% in the previous month).

Population funds in bank accounts increased significantly by 1.7% (-0.01% in March). This dynamic is related, among other things, to the early payment of pensions, as well as the indexation of social payments. Funds of legal entities grew moderately by 0.3% after a 3.3% reduction in March, when companies paid a lot of taxes.

The profit of the banking sector amounted to 348 billion rubles, which is 22% lower than in March. The overall financial result was slightly higher than the profit – 369 billion rubles – due to a positive revaluation of debt securities directly reflected in the capital.
