The grand opening of the finals of the championship in professional skills “Professionals” in the competencies of creative industries and IT took place in Nizhny Novgorod. The organizer is the Ministry of Education and Science with the support of the Government of Russia, the federal operator is the Institute for the Development of Professional Education, and the regional organizer is the Nizhny Novgorod region.
More than 8,000 people will participate in the final event of the “Professionals” championship, including representatives of 19 friendly states.
The competition starts on May 28, and the finalists will demonstrate their skills in 12 competencies in the fields of creative industries and IT. Among them are such relevant areas as “Mobile Application Development,” “Neural Networks and Big Data,” “Cybersecurity,” “Graphic Design,” “Virtual World Development,” and others.
“The final of the ‘Professionals’ Championship in IT and creative industries competencies will take place within the framework of the national project ‘Youth and Children.’ The event will unite more than 8,000 people: contestants, experts, participants of business and educational programs. In Nizhny Novgorod, the finalists will compete in 12 competencies important for achieving technological leadership – a national goal set by President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.”The winners will receive cash prizes, gifts, privileges upon admission, and internships with domestic employers,” noted Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.
Support from employers is one of the key strengths of the “Professionals” championship, reminded Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov.
Today, the partners of the “Professionals” championship are more than 10 thousand enterprises. They participate in the development of contest tasks, act as experts, provide internships and job vacancies to participants. Based on the results of each championship cycle, we annually update educational programs and standards to ensure they meet modern requirements. This makes the competitions truly practice-oriented. The participants of the final of the “Professionals” championship were greeted by the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin.

Thanks to educational programs implemented jointly with enterprises of the real sector within the framework of the “Professionalism” program, our students graduate from colleges as maximally prepared specialists in demand. And the “Professionalism” championship is the most important element of the professional education system. In the course of competitive trials, the guys hone their professional skills and better immerse themselves in the specifics of working professions.”It should also be emphasized that the Nizhny Novgorod region is one of the leaders in the number of clusters of the federal project “Professionalism” of the national project “Youth and Children”, Gleb Nikitin said.
Deputy Minister of Education Vladimir Zhelonkin addressed the participants of the final in Nizhny Novgorod and emphasized that it is precisely them — the talented, purposeful contestants — who will determine the future of the country.

Dear contestants, you are faced with complex, non-standard tasks. Remember: you are already winners, having reached the final. The main events of the “Professionals” championship final in Nizhny Novgorod will take place at the site of the Federal Professional Education Techno Park.
The business program will be opened on May 28 by the plenary session “Professionals: the code of technological leadership,” which will take place at the A.D. Sakharov Mayak Academy. Experts in the field of education, heads of educational organizations, representatives of authorities and business communities will participate in it. More than 20 events of the three-day business program will be organized into four tracks: “Education of the working person,” “Personnel and education,” “Technologies and innovations,” “International cooperation.”
A career guidance zone and an exhibition display will also be available in the techno park.
The “Professionals” movement is aimed at supporting talented youth, strengthening human resources potential, and ensuring technological leadership of Russia. In 2026, the final of the “Professionals” championship will take place in three cities: in May in Nizhny Novgorod – for the competencies of the “Creative Industries and IT” block, in August in Kaluga – for the competencies of the “Industry” block, and in November – December in Saint Petersburg – for the competencies of the blocks “Education”, “Service”, “Manufacturing”, “Medicine”, “Construction” and “Engineering Technologies”.
