Beijing, May 27 /Xinhua/ — The Institute of Science and Development of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) on Tuesday released a blue book on scientific and technological innovations and the development of future industries. It systematically analyzes future trends in industrial development with the aim of making decisions and providing support to all sectors so that they can take leading positions in science and technology, as well as plan the development of future industries.

The Blue Book, compiled by a research group from the Institute of Science and Development, describes technological roadmaps, competition trends, and paths of industrialization in 12 key areas, including general artificial intelligence, embodied intelligence, quantum information, biomanufacturing, and thermonuclear energy. It also proposes a general framework to promote the qualitative development of China’s future industrial sectors.

In my opinion, according to the research group, the development of future industries is characterized by nonlinearity and new properties that require coordinated progress in fundamental research, technological breakthroughs, capital support, and institutional innovations.

The head of the Institute of Science and Development of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Pan Jiaofen, stated that a new wave of technological revolution leads to a deepened industrial transformation, and global scientific and technological innovations enter an active and intensive phase.
