Wenchang / Hainan Province/, May 27 / Xinhua/ — China on Wednesday launched a test satellite of new communication technology from the Wenchang spaceport, located in Hainan Province /Southern China/.
The satellite was launched at 00:16 Beijing time using a modified version of the Long March-7 carrier rocket and was placed into the designated orbit.
It will be mainly used for conducting validation tests of broadband and high-speed communication technologies.
For the “Changzheng” / “Great March” series launch vehicles, this was the 645th flight.
