Tehran, May 26 /Xinhua/ — After American military strikes in southern Iran, the Iranian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday accused the United States of a “gross violation” of the ceasefire regime reached by the two countries last month.
The department’s statement was made public a day after the United States Central Command announced that on May 25, its forces struck positions of missile launchers and boats intended for laying mines in southern Iran.
The IRGC of Iran emphasized that the ceasefire violation in Khormozgan province in the last 48 hours against the backdrop of the ongoing diplomatic process mediated by Pakistan between Tehran and Washington has once again demonstrated the ‘vileness of the US government and its unwillingness to fulfill its promises.’
As noted in the statement, the actions of the United States demonstrated that “deep” distrust of Iran towards the American government is based on logic and a deep understanding of its “criminal and malicious” nature and behavior towards the Iranian people.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned the “aggressive” actions and emphasized that the US government will bear full responsibility for their consequences. –0–
