Minsk, May 25 /Sinchua/ — In the telephone conversation on May 24, initiated by the French side, the presidents of Belarus and France discussed issues of the regional agenda and security, as well as the interaction of Belarus with France and the European Union. This was announced on Monday by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Igor Sekreta, live on the Belarusian TV channel “Pervyi Informatsionny”.
“Yesterday, there was a rather lengthy conversation between the leaders of our countries. They discussed issues of the regional agenda, regional security, as well as the interaction of Belarus with the European Union and France in particular,” noted I. Sekreta.
He emphasized that the main positive aspect of this conversation is the increased interest in normal, civilized contacts, in communication, which had been absent for several years.
“I am confident that there will be more such contacts. Both along the diplomatic line and along the line of other agencies. I think we are in for quite interesting discussions. There is something to discuss. We are ready for this. This is the main thing. We have a wide range of issues that were put on hold or to which our partners have not yet responded. We are for dialogue,” I. Sekretov added.
