Vladivostok, May 25 /Xinhua/ — The future of Russian-Chinese partnership is being built through youth communication and mutual acquaintance with culture, traditions, and values. This is the conviction of the Deputy Director for Development of the All-Russian Children’s Center /VDC/ “Ocean” Natalia Seminyuda, who spoke in an interview with Xinhua correspondent about the children’s exchange center with China, her expectations for Russian-Chinese humanitarian cooperation, and the significance for VDC “Ocean” of the anniversaries of the establishment of Russia and China.

According to N. Seminyuda, over the past two years, interaction with Chinese partners has reached a new level. If in 2024, 19 Chinese schoolchildren participated in the program at the center, then already in 2025, their number has increased to 105.

Children from China have become participants in several international center programs, including “Children of the World” and “World of Opportunities” together with the Russian Geographical Society, “Bridge of Friendship. Russia and the World” together with the “My Story” Foundation, as well as “Sea of Opportunities” jointly with the Maritime State University named after Admiral G. I. Nevelskoy and the company “Russian Crab.”

N. Seminuda added that cooperation is developing not only at the level of children’s programs, but also in the professional environment.

In 2024, an international round table “Additional Education in Temporary Children’s Groups — Territory of Mentorship” was held at the VDC “Ocean”, organized with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation. Experts and teachers from BRICS countries, including representatives from China, participated in the teleconference. In the summer of the same year, the center conducted an international teleconference “Friendship Bridge” for the youth of BRICS countries, in which Chinese teachers, representatives of youth organizations, and cultural centers participated.

“In 2026, the 5th International Scout Leader Festival will take place on the territory of our center, where we again expect the participation of a team from China. We anticipate that their participation, as before, will enrich the experience exchange program, allow us to present new approaches to scout leader work, and further strengthen our professional partnership,” emphasized Ms. Sin Sua.

She noted that the visit of the Chairman of the CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping and the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the “Oceans” in September 2018 held special significance for the center. According to her, this became a historic event and a powerful impetus for the further development of international cooperation.

As N. Seminyuda said, after the visit, there was a noticeable increase in interest from Chinese partners in joint projects and educational initiatives. The center received new proposals for cooperation and strengthened long-term partnerships.

In “Okean,” the prospects of the intersection of years of education in Russia and China, scheduled for 2026-2027, are also highly appreciated. The center is confident that joint educational projects will help strengthen humanitarian ties between the countries and create new opportunities for youth.

Within the framework of the “Ocean” Education Year, it plans to implement international cultural exchange programs for children and adolescents, open thematic educational modules on the study of languages and cultural traditions, develop digital formats of interaction, and conduct professional internships for teachers.

“The CDC ‘Ocean’ is ready and will continue to remain an open platform for Russian-Chinese exchanges, helping the youth of both countries better understand each other and strengthen friendship through live communication, joint projects, and cultural dialogue,” concluded N. Seminud.
