Tbilisi, May 21 /Xinhua/ — Georgia will participate as a partner country of the Shanghai International Tourism Expo (ITB China) — one of the largest tourism exhibitions in Asia, which will take place in May in the city of Shanghai /East China/.
As reported by the National Tourism Administration of Georgia, the Georgian national pavilion will present the country’s culture, gastronomy, and historical heritage. About 30 representatives of the private tourism sector of Georgia will hold business meetings with potential foreign partners with the aim of expanding cooperation and attracting new tourist flows.
The Head of the National Tourism Administration, Maia Omiadze, announced that within the framework of the exhibition on May 25, there will be a reception for high-ranking guests from the hotel business and aviation sectors, during which the country’s investment and tourist opportunities will be presented.
The area of the Georgian pavilion will be about 400 sq. m. On its territory, business spaces for meetings will be organized, as well as presentation and master class zones. Visitors will be able to get acquainted with the traditions of winemaking, crafts, and folklore of the country, as well as try national cuisine dishes.
Workshops on crafts and Georgian calligraphy are planned.
The cultural program will be complemented by a performance of the ensemble “Rustavi,” which will present Georgian folk songs and dances. –0–
